There is something more…the blanket indicates therapeutic properties that are used for treating sleep disorders as well as during therapies on sensory integration disorders along with an abundance of psycho-motor disorders. It can perfectly soothe pain as well as improve both memory and concentration.
Weighted blanket – use during therapy
Weighted blanket is a medical product that, besides the properties of a traditional duvet, also provides beneficial effects on its user’s physical and mental condition. The blanket’s characteristic trait is the weight which allows to simulate receptors, belonging to the proprioceptive system, while you fall asleep and at the time you sleep. Furthermore, it regulates processes that take place in your body. In addition, the weighted blanket can distract pain located in one place and thus reduce the experienced discomfort.
The evenly distributed weight evokes pleasant relaxation, helps calm down one’s thoughts and, as a result, facilitates falling asleep. A healthy, undisturbed sleep improves well-being, supplies with energy for the whole day and ensures proper functioning of both body and mind.
The blanket can be used for treating psycho-motor disorders (sensory integration disorders, autism, ADHD, Asperger syndrome, Tourette syndrome) as well as during therapies on persons suffering from either Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease. Furthermore, the blanket brings favorable effects while treating neurosis, depression and apathy. In addition, using the weighted blanket is highly recommended for coping with physical pain of unknown origin.
